14 months

Good gracious.  How is it possible that I have a 14 month old child?  This post is sad for me for 2 reasons.  The first is that I have a 14 month old.  WTF???  The second is that means we will be welcoming baby number 2  in just a month.  I mean, I'm very excited about baby number 2, but I'm also concerned about baby 2's effect on my relationship with HC.

At 14 months, HC...

  • Walks.  All over the house.  Her posture is still not the best I've ever seen.  She walks with her legs really wide apart and leans forward.  It's pretty funny.
  • Talks.  This girl is going to be like her momma.  Words she uses all the time include:  momma, daddy, kitty, dog,  bath, Dora, hi,  bye-bye, and night-night.  She's also used outside a couple of times and apple sauce.   She asks, "wha dat?" (what's that), and I would swear up and down she said,  "belly hurt" today.  She also will occasionally say nose or eyes.
  • Plays.  She plays peek-a-boo, and plays with her toys.  She plays with books.  At my in-laws tonight, there was a 7 month old.  She took the 7 month old a toy, but not one of HC's toys.  In fact, she wouldn't play with any of her toys in front of the 7 month old.
  • Eats.  She loves to eat.  She says 'mmm' after almost every bite.    Favorite foods include: bananas, cookies, crackers, cheese, yogurt, apple sauce,  chicken fingers from the Mexican restaurant. broccoli, etc.  Let me repeat, this girl loves to eat.
  •  Dances.  She bobs her head to music and smiles.  When one of our Christmas decorations sings, she spins in a little circle.
  • Loves the pets.  This girl gets excited when the dogs come into the room.  If she's in her high chair, she slips them whatever she's eating.  She follows them around the house, and recently, she's started doing super "cute" things like pulling their tails.  She's also fond of the cats, but the cats don't stick around to let her pull their tails, etc.
  • Loves her baths.  When you start running the bath water, HC runs into the bathroom and tries to remove her clothes.  She's not so fond of having her hair washed (rinsed especially).  That usually results in tears.  She also stands up and and reaches for whoever is in there.  After bath, we usually do a quick lotion rub down which is usually the only time she'll stay still, and then we have to wrestle her into her pajamas.
  • Loves sleep.  She'll put herself to bed like two-three times a week.  It is hilarious.

This baby girl is my world.  I love her so much.

Day 30

I'm thankful for my brother. We were 2 years apart growing up, and fought all the time. We get along much better now that we don't live under the same roof. I know I can always depend on him. He makes me smile.

32 Weeks and 1 Day

How far along? 32 weeks plus a day.  We have to make sure we count that extra day.  That's weird, right? That people do that.  Anyways....more importantly....

THE CSECTION COUNTDOWN

Size of Baby:  According to thebump.com, little baby is the size of a squash!  Still growing, your baby weighs in at about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds and measures about 15.2 to 16.7 inches.

According to huggies, baby looks something like this......

Total Weight Gain/Loss:
I am + 10 pounds since the start of pregnancy.    That makes my total for the last month +6.  I am not super excited about that.  It also makes my weight on the scale much higher than my weight SHOULD ever be.  You know, because I was fat before I got pregnant.

Maternity Clothes:
I really just wear scrub pants and maternity tshirts.  On the weekends, I wear jeans and tshirts.  Some of my tshirts are maternity and some are not.  There is no dressing up these days.  Mostly because my comfy shoes are tennis shoes...or flip flops....

Gender:
Allegedly, girl.  We're not convinced. I guess I should elaborate.  We've had conflicting ultrasounds with gender.  I cheated.  I have a friend that does ultrasounds.  Her first look was clearly.....

And then we went for our anatomy scan and the tech was all like....

And I was all like....

WTF??

Belly Button In/Out:
I think it's staying in, but it is really starting to hurt.

Stretch Marks:
I'm not even sweating stretch marks at this point.  I got them last time.  It's NBD.

Labor Signs:
   Negative.

Movement:
Homegirl is a mover and a shaker.  She wiggles fairly frequently.  It's starting to get more painful.

Sleep: I’m sleeping pretty well.  I'm spending more nights on the couch which I also did with HC.  I have spent way less overall time on the couch this time.

Cravings/Aversions:  I don't really have any.  Just hungry.

Symptoms:
I have to pee....all the time.  I'm tired.  I'm grouchy.  You know, the usual.

Feeling:   I feel great.

Best Moment this Week:   Thanksgiving was awesome.  That was in the last week or so.

What I Miss: This week, I caught a case of HC's daycare crud...I was really missing my motrin...and some whiskey....

What I am Looking Forward To:
I finally ordered something for the nursery, so I guess I'm getting more excited about baby coming.  Not that I wasn't excited before.  I was just overwhelmed.

All I've ordered is a rug, and I ordered it from zulily so I know it will be awhile, but my mom is going to make us some crib bedding to match this awesome rug.

Milestones: I'm happy that baby and mommy are happy and healthy.  I'm super excited that my bp at this appointment was 100/70.

Next Appointment:  3 weeks.  GBS testing...booo.....

Day 29

Today, I'm thankful for my ob-gyn.  I know that that's weird.  With HC, my pregnancy was not so easy and I had a very anal ob-gyn who made me....stressed.  She was very uptight and by the book, and nothing I did ever seemed quite right.  I feel like I became so stressed about going to the ob-gyn for my prenatal check ups that it led to further issues, such as white coat hypertension, etc.

I should have changed doctors when I realized I didn't like this practice.

I thought it was too late.  Moron.

When I got pregnant again so quickly, I went back to my original gynecology practice where I was comfortable with an ARNP.  No more of this ob from hell bullshit.

That would have been ok, but my ARNP couldn't see me.  I had a high-risk pregnancy after all.

So, that's when I met Dr. Awesome.  He was my supervising physician when I had all these ovarian problems in my early 20s.  (Uhm. I just said early 20s.  WEIRD.) I never met him then because I had the amazing ARNP.

Now, Dr. Awesome and I have been seeing each other for about 8 months, and I adore him.  Even if he's a yucky man who gets all up in my business.

I had a prenatal check-up today.  That's what prompted my post about Dr. Awesome.  FYI.

Day 28

Today, I am thankful for plumbers. After several days without, we now have a working kitchen sink and dishwasher again.

Giving Thanks

Day 25-- Today, I am super thankful for my dad.  He dropped what he was doing yesterday to come help my husband solve (actually, break more) some of our plumbing problems.  Our kitchen sink won't drain.  He then invited us to dinner so we wouldn't have to eat out, because I'm not washing dishes in the bathtub.  I am too pregnant for that.

Day 26-- Today, I'm thankful for adult Tylenol, and not so thankful for cold and flu season.  I feel like dirt and stayed home from work.  While I would really like some Motrin and a shot of whiskey, I'll accept the Tylenol.
